Overview

The Food and Beverage Supervisor (Part-Time) is responsible for overseeing the serving of guests in the venue dining areas / concessions functions.  The Food and Beverage Supervisor must be personable and able to work in an ever- changing fast-paced environment.  The Food and Beverage Supervisor will assist the Food and Beverage Managers with projects including training, inventory and special events.

 

The Food and Beverage Supervisor must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

 

This role will pays a wage of $25 to $30.

McCormick Place located in downtown Chicago is the largest and most flexible convention center in North America., With over 2.6 million square feet of exhibition space, the campus proudly hosts some of the world’s largest and most prestigious conventions, meetings, and trade shows, welcoming approximately 3 million visitors to Chicago every year.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Event Support for F&B during high volume shows. Supervises Food & Beverage Departments inclusive of Stewarding, Culinary, Beverage, Restaurant and Banquets operations during events to ensure client satisfaction and quality control standards.
  • Supervises and provides direction to hourly union F&B staff.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work with Micros Software, validate and enter voids, make POS adjustments as necessary.
  • Always maintains inventory controls and quality of food being served is to company standards; ensure proper orders for next day have been completed.
  • Spot check inventory
  • Confirm BEO deliveries for accuracy.
  • Inspects food service facilities to ensure equipment and building meet state, local health laws and internal regulations.
  • Directs Union department Leads in maintaining cleanliness of outlets, staff performance, completion of assigned tasks, assist Leads with proper scheduling of breaks and confirming employees returning from breaks at proper time.
  • Greet and Assist Customers
  • Communicate to Management employee related issues and customer issues.
  • Performs all other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in supervisory position in Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Sales or related field.
  • Food knowledge, i.e., Food/Menu items, type of services provided, equipment required and logistical knowledge.
  • Must be available weekdays, weekends, holidays.
  • Prior experience in a Union environment
  • Computer literate (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Strong analytical thinker.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling, have a sense of urgency, be able to respond quickly, professionally and resourcefully to internal and external issues.
